Evocation of Feelings and Emotions in A Space

Combinations of colour, materials, light and arrangement create a certain atmosphere which evokes linked emotions or memories. In exploring such variables in my workspace model creation, the concept that emotions and atmospheres can vary drastically via the slight alteration of any of these aspects becomes emphasised. This is evident in the use of a greyscale colour tone in my models, a healthy working atmosphere is evoked, due to the lack of colour being perceived as a sense of modern comfort as well as removing possible distractions. Through analysis of these aspects, it becomes evident that complementary combinations of these aspects are essential to creating an ideal workspace.

Final Design Floor plan and render images

Image
Floor plan and rendered images of final model. Moved the bookshelf opposite the desk to avoid a bland wall and changed the deask to add a contrast between straight rectalinear shapes to the curved design. Decided on the ocean location as water evokes calming senses. North has been placed in the top left corner so that the sun does not shine too directly into the room. The sun will shine into the roomin behind the desk in the morning to avoid direct eye contact when working and will set in the opposite corner which will also not be a problem as there will be more rooms that way in the house.

Updated Model arrangement
